Summer is winding down and the days are getting shorter like they do every year. With all the hustle and bustle of summer activities, fall can be intimidating as far as figuring out what to do, how to stay active and still have fun. We’ve compiled a list of fun things to do in the Omaha area during the Fall Season!
Henry Doorly Zoo– Through October 31st, you can visit the Zoo from 9 AM to 5 PM, with exhibit buildings staying open until 6 PM. I always associate the Zoo with the summertime, so this would be something super fun to do in the Fall when the weather is cool! I know I’ll be going!
Vala’s Pumpkin Patch– Obviously this is a MUST during Fall in Omaha because they’re only open from September 15th to October 31st. Vala’s adds a new attraction every year so it’s sure to please! Rent a bonfire for a group of friends and make sure to catch a Hayrack Ride!
Visit a Haunted House- Scary Acres, Haunted Hollow, & Mystery Manor are just a few of our Employee’s favorites!
- Scary Acres offers 3 different haunted attractions on its property! Explore the Master’s Castle, House on the Hill, and the Haunted Forest. Then enjoy a bonfire and concessions with your friends!
- Haunted Hollow offers live bands on weekends as well as multiple haunted attractions! They also have nightly scary movies showing outside under the stars.
- Mystery Manor is Omaha’s longest running haunted attraction. This attraction is different from others because a murder happened in 1929, and the property is said to be haunted. Enter at your own risk! Ah!
Fall Junkstock – This might be my favorite thing on our list so far! If you haven’t been to Junkstock, Fall is the time to go! It happens 3 times a year, but I feel like Fall was made for junking! Cool air, fresh cocktails, and all things vintage and refurbished can be found at Junkstock. You don’t wanna miss this! Junkstock is October 6, 7, and 8th this year!
National Alpaca Farm Day Open House– If you’re an animal lover like me, then this activity is sure to please! Head to the Alpacas of the Heartland farm in Fort Callhoun, Nebraska. Enjoy a day of roaming the hills and feeding Alpacas! September 23-24 9 AM to 5 PM.
We hope you get a chance to enjoy some of these fall events in Omaha this year. Fall is a great time to get outside and have fun before the bitter cold and tons of snow hit Omaha!
